The Library

Jenny walked along the shelves of books, her eyes skimming over titles waiting for something to catch her interest. Her fingers trailed behind her brushing the bindings as she passed. She marveled of how well stocked the room was for such a place. But to her, a room with even ten books was 'well stocked', having not encountered many books in her life. And this room had at least a hundred books. Who was to say there weren't more scattered about the mansion, too? Finally she spotted a thin green book on a higher shelf. She stretched to get it, but it was too far up. Holding her fingers as close to the book as she could, she concentrated, visualizing the book moving into her outstretched fingers on its own. Nothing happened. She tried again with the same lack of success. After a couple of tries, the book obeyed, and slid neatly out of its spot on the shelf and into her waiting hand. "Finally," she muttered, still feeling a little proud of herself. "I hope this book is worth it," She went off in search of a couch to read it on, glad for once that Gilmore had ever bothered to teach her how to read.

Cyan looked around the empty library quickly. once she found that it was indeed empty she started to look around. most of the classics where here and a few newer books as well. Cyan was looking for one in particular though, if they had it that was.
"Doyle, Doyle.... where are the bloody d's... ah there!"
She pulled out two odd long instruments. she expertly pulled off a small book with them and found an empty corner. She gently propped the book up on hte wall and laid down in front of it. she used the 'sticks' to open the book gently.
"Study in scarlet... now where was i..."
Cyan's guilty pleasure was Sherlock Holmes and Jeeve’s. she loved all the characters and the mysteries. she was often scolded by scientist for staying up to late to read, but one of them left one when ever she did a good job. she'd just been given the first Sherlock Holmes when she ran away. she figured she'd buy a copy when she'd finally settled down. this was just as good though.
"Ah, there chapter 6..."
Cyan smiled as she read. it was one of the few things she enjoyed other then cooking. so she could never hide a smile when reading. using the ood sticks she gently turned the pages slowly zoning out of the real world.

She located a cushioned arm chair in the back of the huge room and settled into it, with her legs over the arm rest. Without reading the title, she opened the book and began to read.

Cyan jerked up at a small noise. she looked around and saw Jenny reading as well. she debated talking to the blonde, but the blonde hadn't approached her and she was reading now. Cyan decided against talking, right now at least. besides Holmes was about to reveal who the murder was...

Jenny began flipping pages idly, having lost interest after the first few paragraphs. The book wasn't even fiction. She sighed, realizing she'd have to put it back. Throwing her legs back over the chair, she spotted Cyan and froze of her own accord. She suddenly wished she were invisible. Treading lightly, she got up and all but sprinted back to where she had found the book. After the kitchen incident, Cyan was the last person Jenny wanted to face right now.

Cyan jerked again at the sound of running foot steps. She looked at Jenny and bit off a sigh.
"i don't care what you do, just don't bother me while i'm reading, unless it's important."
She have a half hearted glare and went back to her book.

Jenny replaced the book the same way she had retrieved it, thought it didn't take as long. She caught sight of Cyan through the shelves, and watched her flip pages with the spoons. "Did you ever consider using your sleeves?" They're long enough...

Cyan sighed.
"Can't."
she turned the page and marked her place with a stick.
"it's the air around me that damages things as well."
she shoved her hands into her sleeves and touched the cold floor. ice crept from her hands, slower then normal, but still there.
"i have to take care that there is little moister as possible in my clothes, but if you touch them you'll feel that they are frozen in some places."
Cyan shifted on the floor.
"it gets annoying. my coolant system seems to be trying to cool the air around me as well.”

"Must be great in the summer," Jenny noted. Her original thoughts had been somewhere along the lines of portable air conditioner, but her promise to 0014 silenced her. She began to scan the shelves for something fictional to read, preferably on a shelf her own height.

Cyan bit her tongue and reminded herself to be civil.
"i guess if you're around me it is. it sucks for me, i'm always too cold. it took me a year gain enough control to stop myself from shivering constantly."
Cyan sat up and looked at Jenny with half interest.
"my core body temp is a few degrees lower then it should be, but all the mess up equipment that overheats keeps it there. my legs and arms get the worst of the coolant."
she risited the urge to shiver as she always did and shrugged.

Jenny frowned slightly, and looked toward Cyan. "Though it may be embarrassing doing it all the time, shivering is supposed to keep you warm..." She thought for a moment then shrugged and returned to her search.

Cyan frowned.
"yeah, but it's annoying to someone who has to see it all the time."
Cyan gave up on reading. she memorized the page she was on and jostled the book back where it was.
"i'm gonna see what the others are up to."
she left quietly without any hint of violence towards Jenny, after all how could she hate a fellow book lover.

Jenny watched Cyan leave, then turned to search a different shelf. Staring at books eventually became tedious, she didn't recognize any of the titles.

As she hit the end of yet another row of books she found herself staring out the window. "I need to get out of here," she mumbled, and made her way out the door.

Holly had crept upstairs, passed the atrium and found her way to the library. She had never had much of an interest in books, but the fact that there was a library this size inside someone's home astounded her. It was so large she even had trouble finding 0014.
"Zero-zero fourteen?" No answer. Not realizing that the reason for this was because she was speaking too softly, Holly grinned mischievously. She remembered the name 008 had taught her.
"Miss Agnesi?" she called into the vast expanse of the library.

Holly followed 0014's voice and found herself approaching the rather intimidating chair.
Assuming it really was the woman, she replied, "Yeah, it's Holly." Thinking back to the interesting news helped her to perk up a bit. "That younger guy... doctor... I can't remember his name, but he thought you'd be interested. My signaling device just picked up a distress call that's supposedly nearby, in... Liepzig, I think. We're thinking about sending a small group down to check it out. You interested?"

"Three or four," Holly said, a bit agitated that the woman wouldn't speak to her face. "And no, I might not go, judging by the wound I got earlier. Maybe P. would like to though. Why, do you think I should?"
