004 <3 i feel in love with his voice XD for some odd reason voices are very important to me ^^; but 002 is close behind ^^;

its really a tie between 004 and 002 for me. but I chose 002, i guess in the end, i do like him more. XP

002. He's such a bad boy with a soft heart, and if he was an actual person I'd probably fall head over heels for the kid lol. He's got a lot more depth to him than some of the others (Al would have to be the runner-up)

004. I could direct you to the analysis-essay on my DA page, but I won't. It's long and rather dry.

In short, when Ishinomori first penned 009, he penned it to be a piece of paranoid, postwar-crazed piece of future-shock. He wrote it as an alternatively desolate and hopeful view of the Cold War and what could come after it. 004 best fits his world view. He's not a hotheaded youngster that was torn from the prime of his youth. He's a jaded, world-weary man, who could sink no lower in society - and then Black Ghost somehow found a way to make him sink.

002 and 009 may have the hotshot personalities, but 004 is Ishinomori's best-written character. He has the most development and fits the best into the story. And no, I'm not just making this up to justify fangirling. I'm attempting to speak as a writer and not a protective lioness.

I agree completely that 004 is the best-developed character and best for the story. That's why I love him, too!

But I sadly lack intelligence when it comes to picking favorites; I'm more intuitive. so i usually end up liking one I'd be friends with in real life haha.

Don't get me wrong, 004 and I would be great friends in real life too. We'd discuss Doctor Zhivago and The Cost of Discipleship over strong tea, and do other terribly European things.

I usually go for the ones with the least screen time. So mine is definitely 008 and 005 I just loved both of the guys.

When it comes to being friends, like Francoslavic-Banter and BohemianRadio were saying, I'd probably be friends with 002. Probably because my choice of friend's is mostly like him anyway.

I don't tend to make friends my own age - hence the cadre of online friends I have that's anywhere from 21 to 27 years old. Once 004 acclimated to the idea of an oddly formally-dressed teenager following him around, I'm sure he would open up.

Oh, and as for calling people by their real names, as Miss Cyan mentioned - 0014 only does that when she doesn't know what else to call them. She still calls the cyborgs all of their assigned numbers, regardless of the time she's known them. She thinks if she doesn't learn peoples' names and pasts, she won't have to get emotionally attached to them.

But I still have a handful of friends my age too. XP

i tend to aquire friends of all ages ^^; it's in my nature i guess i hate kids, but i have a few mature friends who are younger then me. and i have a lot of friends who are anywhere from a couple of years older then me to 20 years older then me ^^; i'm just weird like that XD
