The Courtyard

cyan saw bonnie and smiled, at least she was ok. cyan didn't register what bonnie was saying but let go of holly and braced for impact. the impact knocked the wind out of her and she tried to gasp. She closed her eyes in pain as she tried to get up.
"i REALLY hate flying."

Jenny obeyed. She lept out of the way, cursing her sudden burst of humanity, as a black haired teen rushed at her too late. The falling cyborg hit the ground.

"At least you can fly," Jenny muttered. She loved flying.

Pain.
He hadn't feel this much pain since he broke a rib or two at a hockey game being body slammed by this one huge dude...
"Holly was it? Do you mind, uh..lifting your legs off of my chest?"

Bonnie ran over to the fallen friend then took a look at Jenny.

"Are you ok?" She bent over frowning. The atoms she had tried to contort into a soft mat for Cyan didn't seem to work. There must be more training soon then.

She then looked at Jenny.

"Who are you?" Confused.

"Why are there so many people here?"

"Don't bother...no one ever answers questions around here."
Rinaldo frowned, recognizing the girl. Finally, a somewhat familiar face. He just wished that someone would explain the situation before any other fights broke out...

"Jenny." She answered despite the comment. No harm in giving them a name to call her by she supposed. She watched the pair on the ground as they struggled to right themselves, choosing not to assist. Humanity is a cyborgs worst weakness.

"ah, hell that wasn't anywhere near as painful as the last time i fell. i think i lost some brain cells."
not thinking clearly she reached for someone to help her up she grabbed Bonnie’s arm and began to pull herself up. She suddenly stop realizing what she had done, she then looked in horror at bonnie, praying that she hadn't been hurt to bad by her very touch.

"I'm sorry..." Holly grumbled, moving stiffly and awkwardly. Her face blotted with fresh tears, she stood, painfully. She turned away and started limping into the woods.
"I'm going home," she whimpered. "I'll walk if I have to. I hate this." For a split second she looked over her shoulder at the boy, then turned back around.

"You're...sorry?" The Italian seemed very confused, a few minutes ago, this was the girl that was about to chop his head off with an odd-looking light saber."Wait, where are you going?" He started after the first person he met on this unorthodox adventure.
Mentally, he sighed. Was the only thing that he could do right was ask meaningless questions?

Bonnie smiled a bit helping Cyan up not hurt at all holding an arm around her for the sake of the other girls balance.

"Up you go." Her Scottish accent shown brightly as her heating system seemed to counter act Cyan's ability.

She then smiled at Jenny.

"Nice to meet you both." She then peered over Rinaldo's head a bit frowning at the sight of Holly. The poor girl looked pretty sad.

"Hey, you! You don't look so good why don't you come into the mansion Doctor Gilmore might be able to help you!" Hopefully the Doctor would have been back by now.

Holly stopped. "Maybe... that's a good idea. Thanks."
Then something dawned on her. It was meaningless to everyone else, but it made everything around her make sense.
"Zero-zero four!" She shouted, whirling around. "He was zero-zero four, of the original nine. And Dr. Gilmore!"
She gazed around the group, from one misfit, like herself, to another. "Is this the cyborg retaliation army zero-zero eight was talking about?"

cyan blinked stupidly.
"But i- and you're not- wait retaliation army? what the hell are you talking about?"
Cyan stopped and regained her composure. she smiled quickly to bonnie and whispered to her as soft as she could.
"Thanks, are you ok? i should have thought before i grabbed you."

What's with this cyborg business? They're only real in science fiction books, right? Well, just a second ago there were two girls flying through the air in a battle so...not completely impossible, right?
Rinaldo silently observed the conversation, trying to make sense of the information given in it. He pretended to look like he understood because it was tiring to look utterly confused all the time.

Bonnie giggled a bit as she shook her head.

"Don't worry Cyan, I'm all right. I guess our abilities allow us to come in contact without harming the other." She hugged the other girl happily.

"Isn't that great!" Her cheerful demeanor seemed pretty out of place after the situations that had passed.

"Zero-Zero Eight? Well, he must be one of those that I haven't met yet, but," She frowns a bit, "why are you looking for this <i>retaliation army</i> ?"

This was too confusing apparently there was more to their cyborg situation than she had thought.

"I've been talking to my friend P. about it... he says he's worried about our safety, because of what LIGHT says. She says things about Black Ghost getting fed up and assembling an attack army, to hunt all the rogue cyborgs down... to kill us all, and even take over the governments of the U.S.A., Britain and China. P. says the original nine want to assemble a rogue cyborg army to fight back. I was wondering if maybe... you... were the ones."

Retaliation army? Jenny listened intently, hoping someone would explain. Black Ghost will be interested to hear this.. It was true that Black Ghost was getting impatient, and when Black Ghost was impatient things tended to get... ugly.

"Whoa, whoa whoa. Army, governments, fighting back, and cyborgs? Maybe now that everyone's on the ground, someone could explain to me what's going on. I was at a hockey tournament in Venice and now I'm here. Anyone know what's happening, 'cause I've been waiting almost an hour for an explanation." Rinaldo asked for the billionth time that day.
He sighed, running a hand through his hair again, starting to scratch and dig at the side of his head.
Why do I have this feeling that I'm not going to like the answer...?

Cyan stare stupidly again. that was the first time she had ever been hugged as far as she could remember. it was... nice
"yeah... it is."
again she recomposed herself. and stood protectively in front of bonnie.
"Hey, i don't know who you are but you mess with Bonnie and you're on ice. i just saw you attack one cyborg and retaliate to another and now you're all friendly? i may not be the best cyborg but i bet i can still kick your sorry tin but into the ground."
she pointed at Rinaldo.
"And you hockey boy, i was busy. chill out, and wait like we did. i can't really tell you cause i'm basically a boot leg cyborg. a knock off."

"Hockey boy?" Yes, that definitely shut the hockey boy up. He had nothing more to say and he began to wonder if he should just go ahead into the mansion like 0019 had planned on doing.
Waiting.
That's all he ever did, wait for something to happen. It's frustrating when you can't do anything to help things progress.

"Rinaldo..." Holly said quietly, trying to find a good way to explain it to him. It was then that she gently placed a hand behind each of her replacement ears and they slipped off. She reached back and hit the switch at the base of her skull, and her hybrid-bat ears lifted atop her head. "I know you're wondering about your hand... You're just like all of us..." She chuckled quietly. "... who all happen to be in the same place at the same time..."

"What are you talking about? Just tell me...were we experimented on or something?" The coffee-eyed Italian internally wondered how Holly had learned his name. She was gone when he introduced himself to Duarte, wasn't she?

Bonnie patted Cyan's shoulder.

"Now, now you must have been through a lot before I came but cool down." She tried to break the ice and giggled a bit at her lame joke, "Do you get it."

She blushed when no one laughed and cleared her throat.

"What she's saying is true though, your no longer only that boy from Venice just like I'm no longer only that girl from the Isle of Skye. Your a cyborg Rinaldo."

She waited hoping he would take the news as well as his mentality could possibly allow him to.

Oh, cut the crap, Jenny thought. "Your a cyborg." she said emotionlessly. "A part human machine. The only difference between you and a robot is your mind." She repeated to Rinaldo what she had been told her whole life. "You're name is 00II. I dont know how you work though, so dont expect anything more from me."

"are you suggesting karma or somthin? sorry i don't believe in it. and you downer girl. we don't need anymore of the 'your a machine with a useless mind' stuff"
she stayed in front of Bonnie and shifted into a boxing stance that she had seen on tv. she hoped bluffing would work with these guys. she only knew dirty street fighting, and with out any weapon that wasn't useful.

Holly squinted at the blonde girl. Where was the sensitivity in that?
She turned to the boy and patted his shoulder consolingly. "It's true. But don't worry, you'll still be able to live a pretty normal life, well... maybe not around so many other cyborgs, with all this Black Ghost talk."
